To the right we have saved you time and hopefully arguments over who does what and when. Our check lists are not a definitive list but we hope it helps provide a grounding for your special day. Simply print the page or copy it into something like MS Word and add or delete specifics as you want. We hope this section helps and we welcome your feedback.

 

Wedding responsibilities

 

 

 
  • When engagement is announced, congratulate grooms parents

  • Holds engagement party

  • Prepares guest list for bride 

  • Coordinates all arrangements for brides' out-of-town guests

  • Provides bride and groom with special gift

  • Provides groom with gift

  • Serves as host and hostess of reception

  • Mother helps bride choose her wedding gown

  • Mother selects her own wedding apparel

  • Mother helps bride to keep track of gifts received

  • Mother is last person to be seated at ceremony

  • Mother stores top layer of wedding cake while they are on honeymoon

  • Mother arranges for wedding gown to be dry cleaned and preserved

  • Father coordinates his wedding apparel with other men of the wedding party

  • Father rides to ceremony with bride in her chosen transport

  • Father gives bride away at ceremony

  • What are our financial responsibilities (Unless both parents agree other arrangements)
